Why do employees dislike going to training events and conferences?

These events over time are now seen as adding MORE with no space to digest. Lack of a dedicated place to take ACTION on what they learned. So why go to an event and come back to a workload days behind?

The organizations giving space and a intentional place to discuss what they learned at these events are thriving in team energy. New ideas, new connections and a day or two outside of the normal walls. A perfect PRO-action to boost innovation and productivity.

Here are some questions to start the shift back to learning through events:

  • What is the intent of attending the event?
  • What will this person gain? What information can they bring back to the team?
  • How will the organization support this person while they are out of office?
  • How will the organization support what they have learned once returning?
  • In what ways can you leverage new network connections that would bring value?
  • How can you fairly send employees to events so the same people are not always selected?
  • What is the purpose of learning for your organization?

In a ever-changing world, what are you doing to engage your teams energy?
