Comparison Coffin

Jan 16, 2023

 Why Me?

Do you ever feel like things are harder for you than others. That it seems, at least at this point in your life, that everyone has their 'stuff' together. That things would be easier if you just had...money, time, health, support, community, family, friends, etc.

Three reasons why this negative narrative in our minds doesn't serve us and how to start actions toward combatting it:

Comparison Coffin

What if you spend all your life striving to be what other people have, or what you perceive them to have. At the end of the day, when all is said and done for your life, that's what it will be. A chase instead of an embrace.

Action - There is always someone ahead of you and someone behind you. It's a losing battle when only focused on others progress and success instead of your own. Restrict or remove yourself from social media and gossip. Let the focus return to your journey of progress and success!

Energy Waster

Do you spend too much time in other people's business? How they are doing, what have they been doing, how's their relationships, wondering why they look the way they do. Time, a gift that is thrown away day by day. We throw it away even though you can never get any back. Focus is distracted to unproductive gossip.

Action - If you treated your energy like a water jug, pouring water out onto the floor everytime you were in other people's business...how much water is left by the end of the day? If you are spending all this energy in other's lives, who is taking care of yours? It's a distraction away from areas you need to work on, and a energy waster. Here's how to start re-routing...reflect in the evening on the day and how your energy or 'water jug' was spent. Was it spilt on the floor often, wasting precious time and energy. Or was it focused on growth, development, peace, intentional space, and finally taking care of your own business. Imagine where you would be in a couple weeks with that allocated time.

What's Your Directional Journey

When coaching, most people cannot answer this question. If I would strip all obligations and distractions from you, what would you be doing. Most people do not know this answer and that is okay. But how long will you go lost in this darkness? All the way to the end of your days? What if I told you, that you can have the life you dream of, if only you took time to identify where you truly want to go.

Action - To know where you want to go, you have to know yourself. Your TRUE self. When comparing yourself to friends, family, co-workers and society standards, this true identity most likely will not happen. Go on a journey to discover yourself, what you like, and what at the end of your days will bring happiness.
