Burnout Symptoms

Aug 12, 2024

In March of 2021, I had complete physical collapse of burnout. I could no longer get out of bed to take care of my three small children or show up to my job that I worked so hard for. By the time there was the right health support for my condition, I was two months away from a heart attack...at age 35...from BURNOUT.

Pictured below is me recovering my digestive system, liver, adrenal gland, immune system, and skin (hair too!). I was 103 pounds, unable to digest food, trouble detoxing, 3-week long periods, anemic, insomnia, open sores on my skin, hair falling out in clumps, and heart palpitations.

It was a silent journey that spread over seven years, misdiagnosed and over-prescribed by modern medicine. Progressively getting worse toward the collapse. I felt completely out of control, confused and fearful of not waking up the next day.

I wish this was a rare condition, that no one else goes through it. Yet half of the US workforce is in burnout and the research is showing this number has been increasing over the last couple years - across ALL generations.

During programs I've met people of similar severity of symptoms. I'll never forget the man who had a heart attack at age 42 from burnout. He hugged me so hard, it felt like it was the first time his chronic stress condition was validated.

There are days I want to be silent, move on from this trauma. Then I remember that time. A scared woman, not getting any answers, alone in the darkness.
